A KF centering ring sits between two KF flanges. Its O-ring makes the vacuum seal, and its metal ring keeps the flanges aligned while the clamp closes around them. Every KF joint needs one. LoCo Science carries 304 stainless steel centering rings with Viton O-rings in KF-16, KF-25, KF-40 and KF-50. A centering ring already comes with every LoCo KF clamp; these are spares and replacements.
