KF hose adapters connect flexible vacuum hose to a KF flange, most often to run a vacuum pump hose to a KF manifold, chamber or instrument. LoCo Science carries hose barb adapters in KF-16 (1/4" to 3/4"), KF-25 (1/4" to 1") and KF-40 (3/8" to 1"), and PVC smooth hose adapters in KF-16, KF-25, KF-40 and KF-50 (1/2" to 2"). All are turned from solid 304 stainless steel bar with no welds.
Which KF hose adapter do I need?
- Find your flange size: Measure the outside diameter of your flange and compare it to our KF flange size chart, or check the size marked on your equipment.
- Connect vacuum hose: Use a hose barb adapter that matches the hose's inside diameter. Our silicone vacuum tubing fits our hose barbs.
- Connect PVC hose with a smooth fit: Use a PVC smooth hose adapter sized to the hose's inside diameter.
- Secure the hose: Add a hose clamp over the barb or smooth adapter.
- Connect the flange side: One clamp and centering ring set of the same flange size.

What is the difference between a hose barb and a smooth hose adapter?
A hose barb has ridges that grip the inside of the hose. A smooth adapter has a plain outer surface sized for PVC hose.

Do I need a hose clamp?
Yes, we recommend one. A hose clamp over the barb or smooth adapter keeps the hose secure.
